Royal Hillsborough Farmers Markets Celebrate Another Successful Season

Royal Hillsborough Farmers Market has concluded another successful summer series, welcoming thousands of visitors to the picturesque Dark Walk at Hillsborough Fort and reinforcing its reputation as one of Northern Ireland's premier artisan food and craft markets.

Now celebrating its tenth year, the much-loved Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council initiative once again brought together an exceptional collection of more than 80 artisan producers, food and drink businesses, designers, artists and makers across three monthly markets, creating a vibrant celebration of local talent and community spirit.

Across the summer, visitors enjoyed an ever-changing showcase of Northern Ireland's finest artisan businesses, from award-winning food and drink producers and specialist street food vendors to handcrafted homewares, jewellery, ceramics, artwork, skincare and garden products. Familiar favourites returned alongside exciting new traders, ensuring each market offered something unique for returning visitors while providing valuable opportunities for small independent businesses to reach new customers.

The markets continued to champion producers from across the Lisburn & Castlereagh area and beyond, showcasing the wealth of artisan craftsmanship thriving across the country. Many visitors also spent the day browsing the village's independent boutiques, cafés, restaurants and attractions, extending their visit beyond the market to experience the village's unique heritage, hospitality and welcoming atmosphere.

Set beneath the canopy of the historic Dark Walk, each event offered more than just shopping, with live music, children's entertainment and a relaxed summer atmosphere creating an enjoyable day out for families, friends and even four-legged visitors.

Alderman James Baird, Chair of the Regeneration & Growth Committee, said: "As we celebrate ten years of the Royal Hillsborough Farmers Market, it has been wonderful to see another fantastic series of summer markets enjoyed by so many people from across Northern Ireland. The market has become a much-loved fixture in our events calendar, supporting local artisan businesses while showcasing everything that makes Royal Hillsborough such a special place to visit.

"From outstanding food and drink producers to talented artists and makers, the quality and diversity of traders has once again been exceptional. Just as importantly, the market continues to bring visitors into the heart of the village, encouraging them to discover our independent shops, cafés, restaurants and local attractions. We would like to thank everyone who visited, traded, performed and helped make this year's series such a success, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back next summer."

The continued success of the Royal Hillsborough Farmers Market reflects the growing appetite for supporting local businesses and celebrating Northern Ireland's rich food, drink and creative sectors.
